by Darren Murph, posted Nov 29th 2008 at 4:18AM It’s been a nice little while since we’ve seen any new navigators from Medion, but the outfit’s hitting back with its relatively forgettable GoPal P5430. The European PND sports a 5-inch touchscreen display, integrated TMC antenna, fingerprint sensor, text-to-speech functionality, an inbuilt FM transmitter and pre-installed NAVTEQ maps of Western and Eastern Europe. Shred Easy unveils Urban Shredder

Shred Easy unveils Urban Shredder
Shred Easy is a name that’s pretty much self-explanatory - it specializes in churning out shredders that are an important fixture at any office, gobbling up important information and making sure that said document suffers a similar fate as Humpty Dumpty, where nobody who takes a look at the post-shredding handiwork will be able to piece together the original. This time round, Shred Easy has unveiled yet another member to its range of mobile shredding devices known as the Urban Shredder. It is tipped that the Urban Shredder will be a common sight in city centers sometime in the near future throughout the UK from 23rd November onwards, offering on-site shredding services. iriver upgrades their E100 series

iriver upgrades their E100 series
To commemorate 1 million of their E100 MP3 players being sold, iriver has decided to upgrade them by releasing what they call the E100 Season 2.  Basically, the Season 2 doesn’t add that many new upgrades, but each mp3 player is now offered in more colors and more storage capacities.  They all come in different color variations of white, orange, and silver.  Also, they are available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models.  Otherwise, expect features and format support to be essentially the same.  One thing I imagine to be different is the current pricing.  Since these models would be a little more advanced, pricing would probably go up a little bit.  Read [iriver] Via [Akihabara News] Keep up with the latest gadget goodness! E-ZCHARGE docking station going cheap
With many people tightening their wallets this holiday season, it makes perfect sense to consider gifts that fall within your budget - and the E-ZCHARGE docking station comes in mind. Retailing for a mere $10, this docking station is good enough to juice up your cell phones, iPods, portable media players and even Bluetooth devices without the use of unsightly long and tangled wires, thanks to the use of a U-shaped cradle and post that adheres directly to any phone’s charger without touching an electrical outlet. Its ribbed inset provides a non-slip surface, and it is made of sturdy polycarbonate plastic for durability and protection. (Read the full post about ‘E-ZCHARGE docking station going cheap’…)

LG Decoy Review - The Tech Herald

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

The Tech Herald reviews the LG Decoy and writes, “Overall, the camera worked great considering its spec limitations, taking crisp pictures when the subject was close. The zoom and lighting adjustments will help in some cases, but will do little to escape the limits of a mere 2.0 mega pixel unit. As long as these limitations are kept in mind, then the camera is a solid addition to the Decoy, supporting resolutions of 1600×1200, 1280×960, 640×480, and 320×240 pixels.”

Nokia E71 Review - PC Pro
PC Pro reviews the Nokia E71 and writes, “The 3.2-megapixel camera is also a little disappointing, with average rather than stunning image quality. You won’t be blown away by the detail capture or natural colours, nor by the amount of noise in low-light conditions, but at the least the maximum resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 means you can print out at A4 without horrible compromises. Should you wish to.” Read more about the Nokia E71. Tags: ipod, M4A, hdtv, DAB (Read the full post about ‘Nokia E71 Review - PC Pro’…)

Battech rolls out long-lasting iPower SX solar charger

Battech rolls out long-lasting iPower SX solar charger
by Donald Melanson, posted Nov 28th 2008 at 9:06AM It’s getting increasingly more difficult for solar chargers to distinguish themselves from one another these days, but it looks like Battech’s new iPower SX has a few somewhat unique things going for it, the most notable of which is a beefier than usual 2200mAh battery (compared to 18000mAh or less on most other units). That should be enough to keep an ipod Classic going for a full 50 hours, as opposed to 18 hours using something like the Freeloader. The device also boasts a few other nifty touches like a battery status indicator (which all to often goes overlooked) and, like other similar devices, you can also simply top off the battery by plugging it into a USB port.
