Never mind if you don’t have a computer or notebook at the moment and yet want to share tunes on your iPod with a friend. The ipod, not being a Zune and hence does not have wireless capability to transfer tunes to another iPod, has this tool to help it out.
It automatically recognizes when you plug in iPods (either Mac or PC formatting) on either end, and it can transfer a three-minute song in five seconds and a 30-minute video in three minutes. The device can also transfer any files when the iPods are set to “disk drive” mode.

TreoCentral member scottymomo has fleshed out a few more details on the device, and dug up that Comm Manager shot up above. Details include: HTC task manager. Comm Manager’s Airplane Mode and other assorted easily switched options. MicroSD (up to 32GB supported) isn’t under the battery, but you do have to take off the battery cover to access. 1500mh battery. Other stuff. It’s all very exciting, we assure you, but you can explore the shots for yourself if you’re really feeling hard up for Treo Pro infos. (Read the full post about ‘More Treo Pro details emerge’…)

by Chris Ziegler, posted Aug 16th 2008 at 5:10PM We can think of about fifteen plain-vanilla EDGE flips from Samsung that we’d expect T-Mobile to launch ahead of something like this, but you’re definitely not going to see us complaining. TmoNews is claiming that the guys and gals in pink magenta have an ace up their collective sleeve in the form of Samsung’s F480 Tocco — or really, an Americanized version of it dubbed T919. Naturally, the US version goes through the usual dilution, losing the front-facing cam — but on the upside, it manages to hang on to the really important stuff like a 3G radio (AWS, we’d assume), GPS, and 5 megapixel cam. Take a good look at this GPS. That’s right, that is a GPS, not a remote control or an mp3 player. Introducing the Kapsys Kapten, a GPS that has a display of 0 x 0 resolution. Apparently, any and all instruction given to this Kapsys Kapten is done via vocal commands. This means that you had better speak clearly when you’re telling the address you want directions to, and hopefully you will hear the computer clearly when it tells you where to go. The company has designed this device for the walkers and not the drivers. I always hoped the GPS market would be targeted more for the pedestrians rather than the drivers. The Kapsys Kapten has some nice specs with a SiRFStar III GPS chipset , 4GB of internal memory, and weights about 50 grams. (Read the full post about ‘Kapsys Kapten uses nothing but the voice’…)

Lenovo has just announced an update to their X300, which is appropriately named the ThinkPad X301 and it comes with some welcomed improvements. Now included will be a few more, larger options for SSD-based storage, with a possible upgrade to either 64 or 128GB. In addition the X300 will also be powered by an Intel Centrino 2 processor, as well as have support for DDR3 RAM and DisplayPort. Lenovo has also added an option to have built-in support for UWB and 3G broadband (with GPS), these will be tied to the AT&T network. Other specs of the X301 include either a 1.2GHz U9300 and 1.4GHz U9400 processor and a 13.3-inch backlit display. (Read the full post about ‘Lenovo unveils the 128GB SSD equipped ThinkPad X301′…)

by Darren Murph, posted Aug 16th 2008 at 9:31AM We recently learned that Intel would be (officially) calling Nehalem Core i7 and Centrino Atom, um, Atom. Now, however, we’ve got a few more related details for you to digest thanks to a stack of leaked presentation slides. The Tick Tock Development Model explains that both Westmere and Sandy Bridge (codenames, of course) will be fabricated with 32-nanometer technology in 2009 - 2010. Moving even further into the unknown, geeks can expect Ivy Bridge and Haswell (both doing the whole 22-nanometer thing) to surface between 2011 and 2012. The Sandy Bridge architecture will reportedly “double the number of cores per die to eight,” while a new instruction set coined Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) will likely get most of the attention. Our Deutsche is a little rusty, but Spiegel’s got a hard-hitting, um, sounding story on Segway safety — specifically regarding what happens when one hits a stationary object or falls off of one while riding it at full speed. Hey Spiegel, why don’t you try the same test with one of those bicycle contraptions we hear Europeans are so in love with?
